Cannot Convert Between Unicode And Non-Unicode String Data Types Ssis
Cannot Convert Between Unicode And Non-Unicode String Data Types Ssis. I) by adding transformations data conversion & derived column between source & destination and getting the converted data. Leaving aside that whether this can be fixed in the sql statement or not, fixing it in the sql statement means the dynamic data types in the metadata.

Change datatype as per source e.g. Make sure you map those in the destination. I am converting the column to unicode since it is expecting the db column as unicode.

I) by adding transformations data conversion & derived column between source & destination and getting the converted data. I am converting the column to unicode since it is expecting the db column as unicode. There is two way to solve it.
Last Week I Had The Same Problem With Data Type Unicode String [Dt_Wstr].
Put [data conversion task] between source and destination to convert datatype from unicode to non. The column in the db is varchar2(20) and the source is from data conversion. In the destination table this column has varchar(254) as data type.
So Both Tables Have Varchar Data Types For All Columns.
All of the columns in my source table are varchars and so when i created my destination table, i made sure that they had the same data types. It will convert any string perfectly to a unicode string and vice versa. I have an excel source component hooked to an ole db destination component in my ssis.
However, I Am Still Getting The Error:
I used a data conversion task to convert all the other columns into dt_wstr (unicode) and the large column into dt_ntext(unicode), i mapped the. This package runs fine on the server inside visual studio, but when i put the dtsx file in the sql agent. It doesn't replace the values however, it creates a new column with the converted values.
And If Your Destination Table Has Nvarchar, You Need To Choose The Dt_Wstr Data Type.
Make sure you map those in the destination. Change datatype as per source e.g. For example, i have a column that is char (6) and have added a data conversion step to the data flow, which converts it to type dt_wstr and then everything works!
